Gyanidhi, the Faculty Research Cell, CMS, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), organized an online five-day national level research conclave titled, ‘Scaling Techniques and Data Analysis using Excel and SPSS’ from April 26, 2021, to April 30, 2021. The focus of the conclave was to provide an in-depth understanding of various tools and techniques used in data analysis with Excel and SPSS.
Day 1
Dr. Bhargav Revankar, Associate Professor from Global Business School, Hubli, Karnataka, was invited to deliver a speech on the topic ‘Data Reduction and Factor Analysis Using SPSS’. He conferred his views on how research is an integral part of life. He provided valuable insights into factor analysis through the description, extraction, rotation, and analysis using SPSS data editor. In addition to being informative, the session was interesting and interactive as well.
Day 2
Dr. Pantula Shravan Kumar R. from JNTUA School of Management Studies, JNT University, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, enlightened the participants with valuable insights into data analytics. His choice of topic was ‘Excel Functions’. He shared his knowledge by briefing the participants about data analytics along with Excel rules, formats, tabulation, correlations, and formulas. The explicit knowledgeable affair concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
Day 3
Dr. Nimit Gupta, Professor - School of Management and Liberal Studies, The North Cap University, Gurugram, Haryana, spoke on ‘Observation Methods’. He emphasized that individuals should put more effort into observation. He discussed various steps involved in observation methods. Dr. Nimit referred to a few facts and gave some examples for a better understanding of the concept. He explained what can be observed in physical behavior, verbal behavior, and various other aspects.
Day 4
Session 1: Dr. Devrshi Upadhayay, Professor - Faculty of Management, GLS University, Ahmedabad, shared his valuable knowledge in the field of research analysis. He enlightened the audience with his expertise in research methodologies. He delivered his speech under the title, ‘Measurements of Scales: Importance in Applied Research’. Furthermore, he elucidated measurement, scaling, instrument designing, different scales of measurement, and sampling.
Session 2: Dr. Varsha Agarwal - Assistant Professor, CMS, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), and Coordinator of Gyanidhi and Vidhyanidhi, exquisitely put forward her insights on the topic, ‘Cluster Analysis & Discriminant Analysis Using SPSS’.
Day 5
Dr. Parul Kumar - Senior Assistant Professor, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS), New Delhi, chose the topic ‘Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Introduction to SEM’ for her speech. She spoke about a blend of vast theoretical and practical aspects of CFA and EFA. The speaker mainly spoke about the difference between EFA and CFA, followed by the steps involved in CFA; the vital role, its validity, reliability, and the CFA model statistics. The entire event was impactful and enlightening.
