
Dr. Chenraj Roychand, a distinguished Indian educationist, entrepreneur, angel investor, and philanthropist with over 40 years of experience, is the Chancellor of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). His vision to generate a culture of educational excellence has led to the development of numerous successful educational institutions across India, including JAIN (Deemed-to-be University).
Along with creating education opportunities, Dr. Roychand also initiated angel-investing firms, which provide a platform for youngsters to become entrepreneurs. Dr. Roychand has been instrumental in incubating and mentoring students. He adopts traditional and modern approaches to inculcate entrepreneurial zeal and transform their business ideas into successful enterprises. The 40 incubation units at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) have helped create employment for 3500 people in 9 years.
He institutionalised sports in the JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) and encouraged excellence by supporting talented athletes in fulfilling their dreams by providing adequate academic support. JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) has produced 6 Olympians, 1 Paralympian, and more than 200 national and international sportspersons. He is also involved in welfare-driven, meticulously conceived projects focusing on health care, education, sustainable livelihood, and social causes impacting quality of life.
Dr. Roychand's contribution to social responsibility initiatives and his profound inspirational aura have earned him numerous awards, titles, and recognitions. The several accolades won for his exemplary work in the sphere of education. Social service include the Rotary Award for Vocational Service, Dr. B C Roy Award from Indian Medical Association Award for Leading Personalities, SEVAK Award for Service to Humanity, Rajasthan Youth Association Award for Service in Education Sector, Seva Ratna Award awarded by Centurion Trust, Chennai for his individual contribution to society, Kempegowda Award for remarkable contribution in the field of education, etc. He was conferred the Degree of Doctor of Literature (Honoris Causa) for his contribution to social work, education and philanthropy by the Mangalore University, Karnataka. He is also the governing board member of prestigious Institute of Rural Development Management Anand (IRMA).
